"Tässä on jälleen yksi todella outo levy Luovaja-yhtiön tallista. Se alkaa sammaltavasti lausutulla Raamatuntekstillä, jonka taustalla on plink-plonk -soittoa - joka sitten kehittyy lähes hypnoottiseksi sykkeeksi. Perässä seuraa mm. kummallista simppeliä syntsaa (kuten Herääminen ja Totta, Mooses tango), mainiota lausuntaa-ja-konetaustoja -matskua (Nostalgia) ja täysimittaista teinihuumorihäröilyä (Jumalan kanssa discossa).

"Tästä albumista ei saa otetta missään kohtaa - hetkittäin tuntuu että se on pelkkää pelleilyä, hetkittäin se osoittaa käsittämätöntä kekseliäisyyttä. Enimmäkseen jäädään kyllä ensin mainitun puolelle. Toisaalta jos haluaa aitoa yllätyksellisyyttä, tai hölmöä musiikkia sosiaaliseen viinanjuontiin, tälle varmasti löytyy oma käyttönsä. Ei tarvitse kuin kuunnella hissimusiikki-raita Katsotaan telkkarii ja nussitaan ja sitä seuraava sekava Kohtaus putkeen, niin on jo varsin pihalla.

"Here is yet another strange disc from the Luovaja label. It begins with a drunkenly-like stammered Bible reading, with some plink-plonk -music in the background - but that is then developed into an almost hypnotic pulse. What follows are things like simplistic synth (such as Herääminen and Totta, Mooses tango), nice speech-and-machines stuff (Nostalgia) and full-blown teen-humor silliness (Jumalan kanssa discossa) . This is an album one doesn't grasp at any time - at times it seems the artists are just fooling around, at others there's amazing cleverness. Mostly it's just the former, though. On the other hand, if one wants real surprises, or silly music for social boozing, this certainly has its uses. All one needs to do is listen to the elevator music track Katsotaan telkkarii ja nussitaan and the following, chaotic Kohtaus in a row, and one is pretty far out already.

"I’m not entirely sure what to make of this disc, so let’s get a few facts out of the way– it’s the fifth release for Finnish label Luovaja. Its sound is dominated by cheesy keyboards of the Casio variety. To an English speaker, at least one track sounds like it has the lyric “Dookie poo” repeated over and over in a silly voice, while a cuckoo clock signals the 4 o’clock hour.

"Clearly, not the best candidate as crossover material.

"At its strongest, “Raavalin kirjeitä Tiitukselle” produces some heavily-layered chaotic moments, densely packed with conflicting noises. “Heraaminen,” for instance; descends into a fury of crashing cymbals, roller coaster screams, and bleeping towards its finish. “Kaiken Sen Ma Menetin,” (of the aforementioned “dookie poo” lyric) melds a mellow synth melody with spastic drum twiddling, all while introducing distressed breaking noise and female vox loops under the main drunken vocal. It’s a terrible mess, but it hangs together like a machine that has to work, no matter how many inept repairs need be made.

"Unfortunately, the rest of the album doesn’t seem to have had such effort put into it. Screwing around with the tape rolling sounds pretty much the same in any language, and the lack of direction will make for a difficult listen to any but the most wishy-washy of listeners.

"Still, this is the age of the CDR. If Luovaja wants to put out 50 of these, I’m inclined to look on the bright side of it. “Raavalin kirjeitä Tiitukselle” is far from being a fully-realized album, but the chance to hear new artists constructing their work from the ground up in real time is an opportunity unique to this generation of listeners. "Luovaja-levymerkin eklektinen julkaisulinja jatkuu Raamatulliset miehet -duon debyyttilevyllä Paavalin kirjeitä Tiitukselle (Luovaja, 2008, CD-R). Hengellistä sanomaa Paulus ja Tiitus levittävät abstraktin diskon, akustisten laulelmien, raamattulausuntojen ja rivojen juttujen voimin. Vähän rankempaa kvalitatiivista kontrollia jää kuulijarukka kaipaamaan: tuntiin yltävä kokonaiskesto on jokseenkin liikaa kerralla sulatettavaksi, varsinnii kun levyn yleisilme on erittäin harhaileva. No, oli miten oli, niin täytynee opetella käyttämään levysoittimensa ohjelmointifunktiota ja lopettaa valittaminen. Paljon antaa anteeksi levylle, jolta löytyy sellaisia poppihittejä kuten 'Jumalan kanssa discossa', 'Riparilaulu' ja 'Katsotaan telkkarii ja nussitaan'. Parasta, niinku." "– – If it’s pretty difficult to describe what Chandeliers are about it’s downright impossible to grasp the essence of Finnish Raamtulliset Miehet’s Paavalin Kirjeitä Tiitukselle (Louvaja [sic]). Ritualistic spoken word in Finnish gives way to hypnotic pulses, cheesy keybords, guitar feedback, toy instrumentation and whatever idea that pops up at that given second.
